Mrs. Jacob Dirks, after a brief illness, passed away early Sunday morning, August 9, 1914, at her home south of Akron, in Westfield township, aged 26 years, 6 months, and 24 days.

Louisa Clara Thiel was born January 16, 1888, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. When four years old she moved to Iowa with her parents and has since resided here. On January 17, 1907 she was united in marriage with Jacob Dirks and their union was blessed with one son and three daughters.

Her father and one sister preceded her into eternity.

Besides her bereaved husband and four children, her mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Tobin, two brothers and three sisters, three half-brothers and two sisters, three half-brothers and two half-sisters are left to mourn her untimely demise, and they have the sympathy, of all who know them.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. Meske, Tuesday afternoon, in the Akron German, Lutheran church, in which church she was confirmed April 5, 1903. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.
