REMSEN, Iowa | Mary C. Loutsch, 93, of Remsen passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen, with the Rev. William McCarthy and Deacon Rick Roder officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Wednesday, with a parish rosary at 5 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Fisch Funeral Home and Monument in Remsen. Mary C. was born Feb. 27, 1920, at Remsen, the daughter of Jim and Molly (Kennedy) Arens. Mary C. was raised and educated in the Remsen area and attended St. Mary's School.

On Nov. 17, 1941, she married Gene Loutsch at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen. The couple farmed south of Remsen until moving into town in October 1979. Gene died Sept. 6, 2003. Mary C. was a resident of Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen for less than two years.

Mary C. was a devoted Catholic member of St. Mary's Parish, St. Mary's Guild and Catholic Daughters of America.

She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and especially playing cards every Monday with her sisters and friends.

Survivors include her five children, Kay (Jim) Grunden of Remsen, Don (Janet) Loutsch of Le Mars, Pat (Mary) Loutsch and Tim (Valerie) Loutsch, all of Remsen, and Ken (Kerry) Loutsch of Kingsley, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Jean Klave, Laura Honsbruch, and Mark, Josh, Lindsey, Trent, Neal and Kristin Loutsch; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Esther Konz of Alton, Iowa, and Doris Wurth and Jane (Leander) Konz, both of Remsen; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Arens of Le Mars.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Wesley Loutsch in 2005; sisters, Valeria (Lawrence) Alesch, Phylis (Martin) Englert and Helen (Ed) Jaminet; and brothers, Os (Doris) Arens, Kenny (Elvira) Arens and Jim Arens.

Casket bearers will be her grandchildren.
