Claude E. Culley, Retired Salesman Dead at Age of 81

Claude E. Culley, 81, of 922 34th St., Sioux City, died Monday at Sioux City after a year's illness. A retired grocery salesman, he spent most of his life in Le Mars.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mauer's funeral home. Burial will be in the city cemetery. Rev. Harold Maxwell will officiate.

Mr. Culley was born Aug. 31, 1881 at Jefferson, Iowa, the son of Charles and Ida M. Keeler Culley. His marriage to Esther L. Seerley took place Feb. 5, 1941 (misprint - should be 1914), at Cedar Falls. Mrs. Culley died in 1953.

He was a member of the Methodist church and United Commercial Travelers.

Surviving are a son, Homer E. Culley, of Sioux City; four grandsons, Dennis, Linn, Stanton and Mark Culley, all of Sioux City; two brothers, Floyd B. of Michigan City, Ind., and Lester D. of Beverly Hills, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Amy Long, Marshalltown.

Also preceding him in death were a son, Robert H., and a brother and sister, Frank H. and Helen Culley.
