Clara M. Satthoff
Clara Margaret Satthoff, 89, of Chatsworth died Monday, October 10, 1994, at the Akron Care Center after a long illness.
Services were Wednesday, October 12, 1994 at Trinity Lutheran church in Akron with the Rev. Allen Bidne officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, under direction of Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron. Randy Frerichs sang "Amazing Grace" and "In The Garden." Congregational singing included "What A Friend" and "How Great Thou Art," Marietta Nielsen, organist.
Casketbearers were Randy Frerichs, Roger Frerichs, Jerry Frerichs, Gary Marshall, Gene Frerichs and George Frerichs.
Mrs. Satthoff, the former Clara Frerichs, was born November 23, 1904, at rural Akron, to John D. and Mary (Nannen) Frerichs. She attended Stoney Point rural school in Portland Township, Plymouth County, IA, and was confirmed in 1920 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Preston Township, Plymouth county. She married Henry Satthoff on December 9, 1925, near Akron, in the home of her parents, and they farmed in Sioux County most of their lives before moving to Chatsworth in 1941. Mr. Satthoff died October 2, 1959. Mrs. Satthoff moved to the Akron Care Center in September of 1987.
Mrs. Satthoff was a longtime member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church at Chatsworth, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and taught Sunday school for many years. She became a member of Trinity Lutheran when the two congregations merged. She enjoyed quilting.
Survivors Include two daughters and their husbands, Frances and Wayne Hart of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Lorraine and Stanley Martinelli of Newington, Conn.; a brother, Herbert and his wife, Margaret Frerichs of Akron; a sister, Edna and her husband, Russell Marshall of Ireton; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Edna (Mrs. BeruFrerichs, Ella (Mrs. Louis) Frerichs, and Ella (Mrs. Edwin):Frerichs, all of Akron.
She was also preceded in death by.four brothers, Louis, Ben. Albert and Edwin.
