Harry A. Kroll, Sr.
Harry A. Kroll, Sr., 66, Westfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 1990, at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist church in Akron. Rev. Tim Mason and Rev. Dave Alspach officiated. Organist was Pam Von Hagel. Burial was in Riverside cemetery in Akron, under direction of Schroeder funeral home of Akron. ,
Honorary pallbearers were Freeman Howard, Kenny Hoffman, Lloyd Hoffman, Charles Hughes, Dwayne Waddell, and Ray Hoffman, Jr. Active pallbearers were Steve' Hoffman, John Howard, Jeff Shear, Ronnie Hoffman, Steve Reinke, and John Wiltgen.
Mr. Kroll was born June 4, 1924, at Holstein, Iowa. He married Ruth M. Kelshimer, Oct. 25, 1946 in Elk Point. She died May 12, 1990. He farmed most of his life, living on the same farm for 35 years, moving to the Westfield area in 1954.
Survivors include three sons, Harry, Jr. of Westfield, Dennis of South Sioux City, and Mike of Akron; three daughters, Linda Clark and Colleen Schwarz, both of Sioux City, and Marilyn Davis of Martinsville, Ill.; two sisters, Mildred Schultz of Paul- Una and Helen Scott of Correctionville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Arlene; a granddaughter; six brothers, Henry, John, Fritz, Ed, Ralph, and Harold; and a sister, Minnie.
