Lyle Strong

Funeral services for Lyle Strong, 66, a former Sioux City residernt who died Monday at Rockford, Ill., after a heart attack were at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lewison funeral home at Akron, Ia. Rev. Chester Guinn officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Akron. Graveside military rites were conducted by Hoeschler Host, American Legion.

Mr. Strong was born November 29, 1893 in Sioux City and later moved to Akron. He returned to Sioux City in 1923 and operated here until 1956 when he moved to Rockford. he was a member of Monahan post 64 American Legion; the Shrine and Freedom lodge. A. F. & A. M. at Akron. he married Cecilia Bennett on January 14, 1914 in Sioux City.

Survivors include the widow; a son, Donald of Butte Falls, Ore.; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Lines of Rockford and Mrs. Shirley Davis of Florence, Colo.; two brothers, Harold Strong of Tempe, Ariz., and Harvey Strong of Long Beach, Cal.; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.l
