Note: According to his father’s obituary his mother’s maiden name is Eden.

George A. Ahrens

George A. Ahrens, 91, Alcester, S.D., died at his home of an apparent heart attack (April 25, 1975).

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 28 in Trinity Lutheran church in Akron. The Rev. Durwood Clausen officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery under the direction of Schroeder Funeral Home of Akron.

Casket bearers. were: Elmer Heeren, Elmer Dimmick, Eric Olund, Robert Dirks, Raymond Wennblom, and Harold Kleihauer.

Mr. Ahrens was born Nov. 25, 1883, at Sterling, Ill. The family moved to Iowa in 1894, and settled in Plymouth county. In 1910 they moved to Union county, S.D. He farmed there the rest of his life.

Survivors include a brother, Arthur of Alcester; two sisters, Mrs. Adele Willms of Alcester and Mrs. Hattie Kurle of Java, S.D.
