Otto F. Milfs, 83, of Neola, a former Remsen resident, died Friday (June 10,1983), in a Council Bluffs hospital after a short illness.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Moeller Funeral Home in Remsen. Rev. Myron Herzberg officiated. Burial was in the Remsen Cemetery.

Mr. Milfs was born April 1,1900, at Remsen to Fritz and Anna Smith Milfs. He attended school in the Remsen area and then went to a barber college in Council Bluffs. He was a barber in Neola throughout his entire career.

Survivors are one brother, Edward of Brookings, S.D. and one sister, Mrs. Rose Gillette of Waterloo; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Mils, Wilhelm, Frederick, Alvin and Clarence and three sisters, Johanna Bentz, Meta Bohlke and Christina Milfs, an infant.
