MRS. ANNA S. KLEMME

Mrs. Anna Klemme departed this life last Tuesday afternoon, September 24, at the Akron Hospital, following an illness of long duration. She was 75 years, 6 months and 3 days of age.

Anna Sophia Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Folkert Schmidt, was born in Athens, Illinois, March 21, 1893. She was baptized during infancy as a member of her church. When but six years of age, her family moved to Akron and she thus was able to attend the public schools in this area. She became an adult communicant member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Preston Township, Akron, by the rite of confirmation, with Pastor Theodore Meyer as her confirmation pastor, on March 24, 1909. At a marriage service in her parental home east of Akron she was united in marriage to Mr. Harry Klemme on January 14, 1910, with Pastor Theodore Meyer officiating. They lived on farm east of Akron for a good number of years. They owned and cared for motel cabins at Arnolds Park for eight summers. In 1952 they moved into Akron and have lived here ever since. They became members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1926 and have been active as members here ever since. Mrs. Klemme had an interest in people that was always friendly and warm hearted. During recent years it usually happened that she could not see the persons who came to visit her, but she would identify them by their voice.

Among those who survive to mourn her death are: her husband, her three daughters, Mrs. Ella Wilier of LeMars, Mrs. Lenore Hansen of Yankton, S.Dak. and Mrs. Wilma Wilier of Akron ; her two sons, Embert of Akron and Vernon of Costa Mesa, Calif.; her two brothers, Fred .Schmidt of LeMars and Melvin Schmidt of Montclair, Calif; her four sisters, Mrs. Freda Klemme of Akron, Mrs. Tillie Kluver and Mrs. Maidie Witt of LeMars, and Mrs. Millie Rehborg of Fort Collins, Colorado, 16 grandchildren ; her three great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.

Her brother, John Schmidt, preceded her in death.
