Edwin William Klemme, 82, of 315 Central Ave. NW, died Monday at St. Joseph Mercy hospital, Sioux City, after a lengthy illness. He had been hospitalized for one week.

He was born Oct. 18, 1888, in Marion, Kan., the son of August C. and Anna Frahm Klemme. He came to Plymouth county at the age of 11 years. He lived and farmed west of Merrill until moving to LeMars in 1963.

His marriage to Anna Margaret Ohlrichs took place Feb. 16, 1911, in Johnson township, rural LeMars. Mr. Klemme was a deacon of St. Paul Lutheran church, rural LeMars, for many years. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in February this year.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran church in Johnson township, rural Merrill. Rev. Olaf I. Rossing will officiate and burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran cemetery, Johnson township, under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Anna, LeMars; two daughters, Mrs. William G. (Ella) Utesch, Akron, and Mrs! William C. (Pearl) Toel, LeMars; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two
sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Clara) Bate, Peotone, 111., and Mrs. Matt (Eleanor) Koch, Bloomington, 111.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roy C. Klemme and Reinhardt Klemme, and two sisters Emily and Edith.
