Floyd G. Waterbury Sr.

Floyd G. Waterbury, Sr., 75, Akron, lifelong area farmer, died Wednesday (Dec. 23, 1981) in the Akron hospital of an apparent heart attack.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 28 in the Wesley United Methodist church in Akron. The Rev. Peter Peterson officiated. Organist was Clara Winquist, and vocalist, Linda Swanson, singing "In The Sweet Bye and Bye" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Burial was in Riverside cemetery in Akron, under direction of the Schroeder funeral home, Akron. A prayer service-was held at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers were Fred McMillan, Art Staum, Walfrid Forslund, Gilbert Wakeman, George Johnston, Porter Maynard, Charles Hendricks, Henry Fickbohm, and Ernest Johnson.

Active pallbearers were Arnold Helseth, Elmer McMillan, Larry Waterbury, Dick Otten, Merle McMillan, and Ray Waag.

Mr. Waterbury was born April 2, 1906 in Union county, S.D., rural Akron. He married Genevieve McMillan Nov. 11, 1929, in Dakota City. The couple farmed near Akron and retired to McCook Lake in 1971. They moved to Akron in 1979. He was an officer of the Union county Farm Bureau for many year.

Survivors include his wife Genevieve; a son, Floyd Jr., of Akron; four daughters, Mrs. Keith (Audrey) Seamands of Grapevine, Tex., Mrs. Gerald (Joyce) Krause, Mrs. Marlin (Sandra) Osterbuhr, and Mrs. Larry (Beth) Tentinger, all of Akron; 20 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and one brother Mario Waterbury of McCook Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one grandson.
