Dale Anderson, 46, of Remsen, died Friday, Sept. 17, 1993, at St. Anthony Hospital Central, Denver, after a one-month illness.
Memorial services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Remsen, with the Rev. Craig D. Miller officiating. The body was cremated. Private committal services will be at the Remsen City Cemetery at a later date. The Fisch and Moeller Funeral Homes of Remsen both handled arrangements.
Mr. Anderson was born July 13, 1947, at Boone, Iowa, son of Robert and Ruth (Hanson) Anderson. He moved with his parents to Dayton, Iowa, at age nine, and graduated from Dayton High school in 1965. He attended Iowa State University, and graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Madison, Wis.
He married Karen Johnson August. 1, 1970, at Omaha, Neb. They lived at Wauker, Iowa. He worked for Commercial Credit Equipment Corporation, later Control Data, of Des Moines, from 1968-1974. They moved to Independence, Iowa, in 1971, and to Remsen in 1974. He worked for the First Trust and Savings Bank in various capacities. He was named manager of the bank in 1982, and president in 1992.
He was active in various community and civic organizations, including St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Remsen Cemetery Board, the Remsen Volunteer Fire Department, the Remsen Lions Club, and various banking organization. He was a member of the Skyhawks Radio Control Club of Marcus, Iowa. He served in the past at the Life Skills Training Center, Inc., Le Mars, and was formerly involved in 4-H. He was an avid golfer and flyer of radio-controlled airplanes.
Surviving are his wife, Karen of Remsen, two daughters, Vicki and Kim, and a son Doug, all at home; his parents, of Dayton, Ia; a sister, Mrs. James (Linda) Hart of Des Moines, Ia.; a brother Barry of Maryville, Mo.; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Arvid (Clara) Anderson of Boone, Ia.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hans and Hannah Hanson, and his paternal grandfather, Arvin Anderson – Remsen Bell-Enterprise, September 23, 1993
