GALLES, EARNEST

Fred Earnest was called to Verdi, Minn., on Tuesday by the death of his brother-in-law, Peter E. Galles, a former well known resident of Plymouth county. Mr. Galles died following an attack of erysipelas. He was forty-four years of age and had lived nearly all his life in Plymouth county, until moving to Minnesota. He was married to Miss Kate Earnest in 1900 and is survived by his wife and one daughter, Cleona. He also leaves to mourn his death, his father, J. W. Galles, and two brothers, John and Joseph Galles, residing near Remsen. The remains were brought from Verdi to Le Mars on Wednesday evening and taken to Remsen where the funeral was held yesterday.

Died at his home on a farm near Verdi, Minn., Tuesday morning. He was born at Springbrook, Ia., Feb. 13, 1874 and came to Plymouth county with his parents as a child. Peter was united in marriage on Feb. 27, 1900 to Miss Catherine Earnest of Remsen, and they farmed in this vicinity until a year and a half ago when they moved to a farm in the vicinity of Verdi, Minn. He was sick only a few days with erysipelas. The deceased is survived by his widow and one daughter, Cleone, aged 15 years. He leaves his father, J. Galles and two brothers, John and Joseph of Remsen, and a sister, Mrs. Fred Earnest of Le Mars. – Liong family news clipping.
