YOUNG REMSEN FARMER DIES. Walter A. Bjork Succumbs to Heart Failure.
Remsen Bell-Enterprise: After only two months of ailing with heart trouble and other complications, Walter A. Bjork, one of the prominent young farmers residing north of Remsen, passed away at his home last Saturday morning. The funeral was held in Remsen Tuesday afternoon with services in St. Paul’s church and burial in the Remsen cemetery. The deceased was forty-one years old, and is survived by his widow and four children.
Mr. Bjork became afflicted with heart trouble late in January, and his condition rapidly developed. Later he contracted an infection of the brain, which made his ailments serious and gradually grew worse. He sought medical advice and assistance at various places and for a few days received treatments in a hospital. During the past several weeks he was confined to the sickroom at his home, where all that was humanly possible was done to help him, but to no avail. The end came at 1:30 o’clock Saturday morning, with the entire family and other close relatives at his bedside. – Le Mars Globe Post, April 8, 1929, page 1.
