George H. Wiebke.
George Henry Wiebke, 86, of Remsen died Monday (Jan. 30, 1984) at Brentwood nursing home in Le Mars after a long illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Remsen. Rev. Mryon Herzberg will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 8 p.m. at the Moeller Funeral Home in Remsen.
Mr. Wiebke was born Sept. 10, 1897, in Cook, Neb., to Frederick and Wilhelmina Beckman Wiebke. He married Alma Harnack Sept 12, 1923, in Le Mars. They farmed south of Remsen since the early 1920’s. She died March 22, 1977.
Mr. Wiebke was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors are two sons, Earl of Remsen and Harold of Oceanside, N.Y.; two sisters, Minnie Mohning of Le Mars and Nora Bish of Cook; a brother, Henry of Omaha; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Clara Wiebke, Lena Juillfs and Emma Johns; four brothers, Chris, Rev. Fred Wiebke, Martin, Rev. Ben Wiebke and a grandson. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Jan. 31, 1984, page 13.
