Leslie E. Peters, 78, of Remsen, died Sunday (Jan. 23, 1983) at the Orange City Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Remsen, Rev. Myron Herzberg will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 8:30 p.m. in the Moeller Funeral Home.
Mr. Peters was born Jan. 4, 1905, at Remsen to Charles and Lucy Lang Peters.
He married Veronica Faber Oct. 31, 1936. He was a retired International Harvester dealer.
He was an active member of the Remsen Fire Department for 44 years. He was a member of the Remsen Baseball Team and Pete’s Imperial Swing Band for many year and the Remsen Cemetery Board.
He was a member and secretary of St. Paul’s Church Council for many years.
Survivors are his wife; one son, Terry of Avoca; and three grandchildren, Kim of Adair, and Joel and Susan of Avoca.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Vernon, and a granddaughter, Sharon. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Jan. 25, 1983, page 13
