Life’s End. MRS. LOUISA POST LAST RITES PLANNED AT REMSEN CHURCH.
Funeral services for Mrs. Louisa Post, 93, longtime Estherville resident, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Lutheran church at Estherville. This will be followed by a service at 2:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church, Remsen, Rev. Alfred Christensen will officiate and burial will be in Remsen city cemetery.
Mrs. Post died Sunday morning at Good Samaritan home, Estherville.
Mrs. Post was born Oct. 22, 1872, at Luzerne, Iowa. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sievers, early day settlers of Benton county.
She received her schooling at Remsen public schools and attended Le Mars business school and a millinery school. Her marriage to William C. Post took place Sept. 22, 1894, at Worthington, Minn. The couple operated a millinery shop at Worthington.
In 1898 they moved to Estherville. She was a member of the Service Star Legion, a charter member of Emmanuel Lutheran ladies aid and the Rock Island Woman’s club.
Survivors are a son, Dr. Clair Post of Mitchell, S.D.; nine grandchildren; a sister, Helen Sievers, 91, Estherville. She was a sister of William Sievers, former Remsen banker who preceded her in death. A nephew is William Sievers, Le Mars. – Feb 8, 1966, page 8.
