Boline was born in Fredonia Township, Plymouth County, Iowa, the daughter of Hans Peter and Maren Magdalene (Nielsen) Mortensen. She attended country school in Plymouth County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, Fredonia Township. In 1940 she transferred her membership to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Remsen. For many years she and her brother Peter lived on the farm in Fredonia Township, farming with their parents, and as their parents grew older Boline and Peter took loving care of them. Father and Mother both died in 1946. Shortly after their parents deaths, she and her brother moved into Remsen. Peter died in 1965.
Boline married Carl Marquard November 21, 1950 at St. Paul Lutheran church in Remsen. Carl died in 1967. Boline has lived in Remsen for 44 years. Boline was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Carl; 2 sisters Mary Juhl and HErlig Lassen; 4 brothers Nis, Morten, Niels and Peter. – Funeral Bulletin
