Life’s End. JOHN KUTTLER, 87, DIES AT HOSPITAL, FUNERAL TUESDAY.
Funeral services for John (Jacob) Kuttler, 87, longtime Remsen and Le Mars resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Christ Lutheran church, Remsen.
Rev. Alfred Christiansen will officiate and burial will be in Remsen cemetery under direction of the Fisch funeral home.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Mr. Kuttler died Monday at Sacred Heart hospital after an illness of six days. He had resided the last two years with a daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Mohning, Le Mars.
He was born Feb. 22, 1879 at Immenhausen, Wurtenberg, Germany. After coming to the United States in 1902, he returned to Germany in 1921 where his marriage to Elise Wittel took place Jan. 22, 1922. After their marriage they returned to the Remsen area where they farmed southeast of Remsen. They retired to Remsen in February, 1944.
Mrs. Kuttler died in March 1964, after which Mr. Kuttler made his home with his daughter.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Hilda) Mohning, Mrs. Merlin (Margaret) Mohning and Mrs. Donald (Vicki) Ott all of Le Mars; 16 grandchildren; a brother, Martin, in Germany; nine nieces and nephews in Germany, and a niece, Mrs. Frank Hahn, Senton, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, five brothers, four sisters and a grandson. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, March 22, 1966, page 4.
