Mrs. M. Ahlrichs Taken By Death
Heat Blamed In Part For Death At 87 Years
Mrs. Marie M. Ahlrichs, 87, died Thursday morning, July 16, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Johnson, 214 6th Avenue S.W. Mrs. Ahlrichs had been sick for about two weeks, the cause of her death being attributed to the heat and senility.
Marie Margaret Moehlmann was born November 12, 1848, in Sandal, Province of Oldenburg, Germany. She was 87 years, 8 months and 4 days of age at the time of her death.
Mrs. Ahlrichs came to LeMars in the year 1892 and has made her home since, being one of the older Plymouth county settlers.
Deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. C. Johnson, LeMars; one son, Carl W. Ahlrichs, Eldorado Springs, Mo., ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and five children.
She made her home with her daughter for the last four years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock from Luken's funeral home with Rev. L. L. Belk officiating. Interment will be made in the city cemetery. Luken's funeral directors will be in charge of arrangements.
