OLD RESIDENT PASSES AWAY

Mrs. Hermann Heeren, of Le Mars, Dies Following a Lingering Illness

Was Early Settler in Western Part of County

Death claimed Mrs. Heeren, wife of H. P. Heeren, residing at 134 Second Avenue NW., Friday, December 30, after a lingering Illness, at the age of 75 years.

Anna Katherine Louise Heeren, daughter of Gerd Grahlman and his wife, Anna, nee Behrernds, was born July 10, 1857, near Sanda, Grossherzogtum, Jeverland Oldenburg, Germany. She came to this country in 1875 settling first at Tull Hill, Ill. On October 7, 1879, she was united In marriage with Herman Heeren.

They have two sons, J. F. Heeren and G. W. Heeren, both farmers In the Le Mars neighborhood. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Heeren first farmed in Grant and later on in Johnson township, this county. They retired and came to make their home in Le Mars la 1006. Here they became members of St. John's Lutheran church, of which Mrs. Heeren was a faithful member until her death.

Mrs. Heeren was a devoted daughter, wife and mother, a friend in good times and in adversity, a helpful and loyal neighbor.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran church, Rev. J. J. Vollmar officiating, and interment made in the city cemetery. A large concourse of neighbors and friends paid the last tribute to the deceased woman.
