Akron Register-Tribune: Mrs. John Heeren, a pioneer settler in Plymouth County, Iowa, passed away Sunday, April 15, 1923, at the home of her son Edward Heeren, west of Akron, in Union county, S. D., at the age of 66 years 6 months and 30 days. She went to the home of her son Edward, the latter part of last September, and, being a long sufferer of rheumatism, was confined to her bed until last Sunday, when death came as a merciful relief from suffering. Loving hands did everything possible for her relief and comfort and she bore her cross with Christian fortitude and patience.

After a brief service at the home of her son, Edward Heeren, at 11 a. m., Wednesday, the remains were taken to the Presbyterian church at Crathorne, Plymouth county, of which she was a member for a number of years, where Rev. Weaver conducted funeral services at 1 p. m. Interment was in the church cemetery there.
