Miss Bertha Harnack Of Remsen Died In Le Mars Hospital Apr. 2.
Miss Bertha Harnack of Remsen died Saturday, April 2, in Sacred Heart hospital, at the age of 63 years. She had been in poor health for several years and was taken to the hospital last week.
Bertha Harnack was born February 1, 1886, on a farm south of Remsen, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Harnack. She had lived in Remsen since 1921 and operated a dress shop there for a number of years. She taught Sunday school for 25 years in Christ Lutheran church and was a charter member of Pieper Post, American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sisters, Miss Elizabeth Harnack of Remsen and Mrs. Anne Cutler of Worthington, Minn., and one brother John Harnack of Remsen.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 5, at 1:30 at the Moeller Funeral Home and at 2 o’clock at Christ Lutheran church. The Rev. A. Noack will officiate and interment will be in Remsen cemetery. – LE Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, April 5, 1949, page 1.

Remsen: Funeral services for Miss Bertha Harnack, 63, lifelong Remsen resident, were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Moeller funeral home here and at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church, Rev. A. Noack officiated and burial was in Remsen cemetery.
Miss Harnack was born February 1, 1886, on a farm near Remsen, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Harnack. Miss Harnack operated a dress shop here many years.
