Mrs. Harnack.
Mrs. Caroline Harnack, about 60, of Remsen, passed away at St. Vincent’s hospital in Sioux City, today, August 28, after a long sickness. She had been a semi-invalid since 1945.
Caroline Lang was born January 20, 1891, at Remsen, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Lang. she was a school teacher in Plymouth county and at Larchwood, Iowa, before her marriage to Mr. Harnack. He passed away in 1928.
Funeral arrangements are pending as the three children who live in widely scattered parts of the country are being contacted. Moeller’s funeral home in Remsen will have charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. J.A. Holly of Buffalo, New York; three sons, Robert, of Chicago, Curtis of Grinnell, Iowa, and Kenneth of Remsen. Two sisters, Mrs. John Harnack, who lives in the same home in Remsen and another sister. Two brothers, Frank Lang of Remsen and John in North Dakota. – Le Mars Globe-Post, August 28, 1952, page 17.

Mrs. Carolyn Harnack, 62, of Remsen died Thursday morning, Aug. 28, at St. Vincent’s hospital in Sioux City after an illness of nine months.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Aug. 31 at 1:30 p.m. at the Moeller funeral home in Remsen and at the Christ Lutheran church at 2 o’clock. The Rev. A. Noack will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Remsen city cemetery.
Carolyn Lang Harnack was born Jan. 20, 1890 in Remsen and has lived in that vicinity all her life. Her husband preceded her in death a number of years ago and in recent years she has lived on a farm two miles south of Remsen with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Harnack.
The survivors include one daughter, Ruth, and three sons, Kenneth, Robert of Chicago and Curtis of Grinnell.
