HEART ATTACK IS FATAL TO AKRON MAN LAST WEEK

Rites Are Held Last Saturday Afternoon For Strachey Morehead

Strachey H. Morehead, a well-known and lifetime resident of western Plymouth County, passed away Wednesday, July 15, at St. Vincent's Hospital, Sioux City, after a brief illness resulting from a heart attack, aged 56 years, 8 months and 18 days. Mr. Morehead was taken ill while visiting friends in South Sioux City, Nebr., that afternoon and was taken to the hospital where death ensued about a half-hour later.

Strachey H. Morehead was born in Plymouth County, Iowa, near Akron, October 27, 1902, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Morehead, and farmed in this vicinity most of his life. He was united in marriage with Miss Goldie Jones, December 15, 1924, and to this union was born one son and two daughters. His wife preceded him in death in 1955. Mr. Morehead was a member of the First Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers.

Survivors include one son, Arnold, of San Diego, Call.; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Klemme and Mrs. Betty Klemme, both of Akron; one brother, Charles, of San Diego; six sisters, Mrs. Alma Port, Mrs. Hope Lucken, both of Akron, Mrs. Joy McCorkell, of Ontario, Calif.; Mrs. Alta Korthals, Mrs. Dorothy Miller and Mrs. Madge Kellogg, all of San Diego; and seven grandchildren.

Many friends extend sympathy to the relatives in their sudden bereavement.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in me first Church of Christ, Akron, Rev. Irwin Stanke officiating. The vocalists, Marvin and Merlyn Klemme and Mrs. Gerald Blake, sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "In the Garden." Mrs. Marvin Klemme was accompanist. Pallbearers were Leonard Klemme, Herbert Buehre, Erwin Klemme, Wilmer Klemme, Darwin Klemme and Raymond Tapper. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.

Relatives who came from distance were his son, Arnold; his brother, Charles, and sisters, Mrs. Alta Korthals, Mrs. Dorothy Mille.- and Mrs. Madge Kellogg, all from San Diego, Calif..
