Mrs. Charles Kruse, 58, Avon, S.D., formerly of rural Akron, died Saturday (Aug. 25,1973) at St. Michael hospital, Tyndall, S.D. Mrs. Kruse was the wife of Rev. Charles Kruse, who served at Plymouth Presbyterian Church, rural Akron from 1954 to 1971.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church, Avon. Services were also held at 2:30 p.m. the same day at the rural Akron church with Rev. James Offerink officiating. Burial was in Plymouth Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Akron, with the Crosby Funeral Home, Avon, in charge. Mrs. Kruse had been ill with cancer for three months. .

The former Martha Eden, she was born April 18, 1915, on a farm near Woden, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claus Eden. She was graduated from Woden high school in 1933 and attended the University of Dubuque for two years. She also attended nurses training for three years at Cook county hospital, Chicago, completing her training in 1940. Her marriage to Charles Kruse at Lost Nation took place May 14,1938. They resided at Rawley for two years; Brewster, Minn., for 12 years, rural Akron for 17 years and at Avon for two years.

Survivors are her husband, Rev. Charles Kruse; three daughters, Linda of Elkins, West Va.; Mrs. Daniel (Roxanne) Praeuner, Bloomfield, Neb., and Julie at home; a granddaughter Lynn of Bloomfield and two sisters, Mrs. John (Hulda) Boyden of Titonka and Mrs. J. M. (Carrie) Strong, Dunbar, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and sisters.
