Mrs. Lloyd (Edith Mae) Peck, 87, of Akron, died Thursday (Nov. 10, 1988) in the Hawarden Community Hospital of a short illness.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at the First Church of Christ in Akron. Rev. Kerry Jech and Rev. Elmer Hodge officiated. "How Great Thou Art" and No More Night" were sung by Tom Weber, vocalist. A duet, Keith Miller and Richard Port, sang "The Old Rugged Cross", accompanied by organist, Carol Harris. Burial was in Riverside celetery under direction of Schroeder funeral home, Akron. Pallbearers were Lyle Moffatt, Kevin Moffatt, Richard Moffatt, Kenneth Franklin, David Moffatt, and Tom Weber.
Mrs. Peck, the former Edith Mae Hanson, was born Nov. 22, 1900 to Hans and Lulu (Hall) Hanson in Union County, South Dakota. She married Lloyd Peck Dec. 16, 1918 in Elk Point. They lived in Nebraska and returned to the Akron area in the 1950s. Mr. Peck died in April 1973. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Le Mars.
Survivors include her two daughters, Mrs. Allen (Viola) Moffatt and Mrs. Don (Joyce) Franklin of Rapid City, S.D.; six grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Alice Hanson of Akron.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Maggie Carlson and Mary Hanson, and one great-grandson, Michael Dicks.
