Hazel Johannah Miller, 78, of Akron, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 1991, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, Sioux City of a brief illness.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Akron. The Rev. Donald Greenough officiated. Gary Tucker, vocalist, sand "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross", accompanied by Eric Banks, organist. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Akron, under direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.
Casket bearers were Terry Miller, Tim Miller, Teddy Miller, Jim Miller, Jack Miller Jr., Kevin Miller and Dennis Miller. Honorary casket bearers were Deborah Singer, Patty Heeren, Cindy Olson and Chris Harvey.
Mrs. Miller, was bora March 10, 1913 in Ida Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Harry F. and Carrie Marie (Pedersen) Linn. She married Clarence Miller, Sept. 20, 1928, in Elk Point, S.D. She had lived in Akron most of her life. Mrs. Miller was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Akron.
Survivors include her husband Clarence of Akron; four sons, Clarence Theodore and a friend, Darlene Madsen of Dixon, Neb., and William LaVern and his wife, Fran, Thomas Robert and his wife, Sally and Jack L. and his wife, Ruth, all of Akron; a sister and her husband Ila and Clifford McMurray of Le Mars; a sister-in-law, Ethel Harris of Akron; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Kowalczk, and a brother, Marion Linn.
