Clarence E. Miller, 89, of Akron died Saturday, March 13, 1993, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services were held Tuesday at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Akron with the Rev. Donald Greenough officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

Mr. Miller was born Oct. 15, 1903, in Sioux City, the son of Arthur and Lydia (Schroeder) Miller. He married Hazel Linn Sept. 20. 1928, in Elk Point, S.D. The couple moved to the Akron area in 1935. He worked at Dirks Motor and operated-a repair shop in his home for several years. He worked for the Graham Brake Co. in Sioux City from 1959 until retiring in 1968. Mrs. Miller died Nov. 2, 1991. Mr. Miller was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include four sons and their wives, Theodore and Darlene, William and Fran, Thomas and Sally and Jack and Ruth, all of Akron; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel C. Harris of the Akron Care Center.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Miller; a half brother, Charles Chambers; and a half sister, Hazel Rush.
