Former Remsen Woman Passes Away at Storden.
Funeral services were held Friday in the Lutheran church at Storden, Minn., for Mrs. Harry Kohlmeier, former Remsen resident, and the body taken to Remsen for burial.
Mrs. Kohlmeier, nee Spiecker, was born in Muehldorf, Schleswig Holstein, Germany, June 9, 1876, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Spiecker. The family came to this country and settled on a farm south of Remsen when she was 16 years old. On February 19, 1897, she was united in marriage to Harry Kohlmeier.
They farmed south of Remsen for fourteen years and then Mr. Kohlmeier engaged in the grain and dray business in Remsen. They lived later on a farm near Platte, S.D., and then moved to Storden, Minn.
She leaves her husband and children, Mrs. Clarence Kramer, Storden, Minn., Mrs. Herbert Harnack, of Remsen, Mrs. Frank Feil, Henderson, Minn., and Harry Kohlmeier, of Storden. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Nov. 26, 1940, page 1.
