Mrs. Fred G. (Marie) Eichhorn, 95, of Remsen, died Friday (Nov 25, 1983) at Happy Siesta home in Remsen after a brief illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen. Rev. Lee R. Mentink will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen City Cemetery under the direction of the Moeller Funeral Home.
Mrs. Eichhorn, the former Marie Boehmke, was born Sept. 17, 1888, in Plymouth County to Emil and Ann Wiebben Boehmke. She received her education in the Remsen area. She was a lifelong area resident. She married Fred Eichhorn June 10, 1908 in Remsen. He died in October 1950.
She had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Anna Dorr in Remsen for several years.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Dorr and Mrs. Emily Mae Holtgrewe, both of Remsen and Mrs. Annabelle M. Hey of Clinton; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Milton and Roy. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Nov. 30, 1983, page 15
