Edward H.Jans, 85, Akron, died Wednesday, February 10, at the Akron Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 13th 10:30 a.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Burdette officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home. Pall bearers were: Kenneth Utesch, Don Witt, Jerry Jans, Robert Utesch, Karl Jans and Wayne Jans.

Mr. Jans was born March 31, 1885 at Tipton, Iowa. He moved to Akron with his parents when he was 5 years old. He married Grace Tone, December 18,1930 at Dakota City. He was a carpenter until retiring.

Survivors include the widow, 6 stepchildren, 19 step-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and fourteen brothers and sisters.
