Harry Larson departed this life last Tuesday noon, October 6, 1970, at the Akron Hospital, following an illness of a little over a year. He was 78 years of age.

Mr. Larson was born in Livermore, Ia. June 4, 1892. In infancy he was baptized in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, at Bode, Iowa. At a wedding service in Richland, South Dakota, on July 6, 1922, he was united in marriage to Marie Brown. Pastor Joseph F. Franklin of Elk Point, South Dakota, officiated. He served his country in the Armed Forces during World War I.

During the first years of their married life, they lived in Sergeant Bluffs, Iowa. Mr. Larson and his brother-in-law were working on the drag line. We understand that their work included the excavation for the Orpheum Building and the Post Office in Sioux City. In 1928, they moved to the Akron community, where he farmed until 1959. At that time he retired and they made their residence in Akron. Mr. Larson was a friendly and likable person who did his finest in serving where needed. Since injuring himself in September, 1969, he had been in failing health.

Among those who survive his departure are: his wife, Mrs. Marie Larson; his daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Dirks of Akron; his brother, Maury Larson of Sioux City; his sister, Mrs. Hannah Peterson of Ruthton, Minnesota; his two grandchildren and his four great grandchildren, beside other relatives and friends.

The funeral in his memory was held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Akron, Friday forenoon, October 9, with Pastor David J. Roy, officiating. Mrs. Henning Shoulberg was organist and accompanied Mrs. Stuart Harris as she sang "Have Thine Own Way" and "In Heaven Above."

The casket bearers were: Roy Nielsen, Otto Larsen, Russell Anderson, Lovay Lamoureux, Lyle Jacobs and Walter Young.

Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
