Mrs. Eggebrecht Dies In Craig Heart Attack Fatal To German Immigrant
Mrs. Minnie Eggebrecht of Craig died unexpectedly of a heart attack at her home at 12:35 a. m. Tuesday, August 29 at the age of 71 years, one month and 12 days.
Minna Ladwig, daughter of Christian and Johanna Ladwig, was born in Lindenberg, Germany, July 16, 1879. When only a child of six years she came to this country with her parents and lived for 16 years in Detroit, Mich. March 26, 1893, she was confirmed in the Lutheran Church of Detroit, Mich. When she was 22 years of age she came to Sioux county, and was united in marriage with Herman Eggebrecht October 15, 1902. To this union seven children were born, Mrs. Clara Hutton; Harold, who preceded her in death; Mrs. Grace Ludwigs; Herman, Jr.; Mrs. Edna Schuette; Mrs. Mildred Beeck; and Irvin.
For the past 41 years she has made her home in the vicinity of Craig. Mrs. Eggebrecht was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Craig, as well as the Women's Missionary society of the church.
She is survived by her husband, six children, 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren besides, one brother, Frank Ladwig of Richmond, Ind., and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Schumacher of Doone and Mrs. Eilerd Ludwigs of Craig.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters; her, Rudolph, Mamie, Anna and Emma Ladwig.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. K. W. Schmidt at the home at 1:30 Friday and 2 p.m. at the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Craig. Interment will be at the St. John’s Cemetery.
