No obituary has been found, but the following articles tell something of Edward’s life.
Four Are Naturalized. Judge C.W. Pitts granted naturalization papers to…Hedde Homeyer, who changed his name to Edward Homeyer… Le Mars Globe Post, Feb 9, 1931, page 5.
Kingsley. From the News-Times. On Monday, April 20, a group of neighbors and friends gathered at the Ed. Homeyer farm five miles north of Kingsley, who at that time had been confined to a hospital in Sioux City for about three weeks, and who returned on Tuesday to find that his entire fifty acres had been plowed at the farm place. There were twenty-eight men with twenty-three tractors and plows and three ladies who served lunch. There were three other ladies who were donors as well as Roy Vannorsdel, who furnished cigars. The entire acreage was plowed in two and a quarter hours. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, May 5, 1942, page 2.
