Mrs. Charles Lahrsen Funeral Services Held Friday in Remsen.
Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Lahrsen, 62, of Remsen, were held Friday afternoon at the Moeller Funeral Home, and burial was in the Remsen cemetery. Mrs. Lahrsen died Tuesday at the Sacred Heart hospital after a long illness.
Born March 4, 1887, the daughter of Gerd and Maria Moritz, at Benson, Ill., in Woodford county, Mrs. Lahrsen came to Iowa – with her parents as a young child. She later attended Plymouth county schools and grew up in this community.
In 1895 she was married To Ernest Harnack and they became the parents of three children, two daughters and a son Frank, who died at the age of three.
After Mr. Harnack’s death, Mrs. Lahrsen was married to Charles H. Lahrsen on May 17, 1928 in Remsen.
Surviving are her husband, Charles H. Lahrsen, two daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Marie) Peters, and Mrs. Orville (Verna) Raveling; two grandsons, Kermit Peters and Danny Lee Raveling; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Philip Raveling of Lucan, Minn., Mrs. Tina Spiecker of Topeka, Kan., David Moritz of Sioux city, John Moritz of Calumet, Iowa, Mrs. George Meyer of Le Mars and Mrs. Anton Ufken of Marshall, Minn.
Preceding her in death were a son, Frank, her father and mother, two sisters and two brothers. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Aug 23, 1949, page 1.
