Aged Woman Injured. Remsen Bell-Enterprise: Mrs. Catherine Holm, mother of Mrs. Catherine Heitman, of Remsen, and who makes her home with the latter, suffered a serious injury when she fell on the floor in the Heitman home, breaking her left arm near the shoulder and suffering bad face bruises. John Lahn of Belle Plaine, Iowa, came Monday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Catherine Holm, a relative. Mr. Lahn is also a cousin of Mrs. Alfred Moeller and visited here until Tuesday, going to Akron to visit with the Hans Willer family. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Jan. 24, 1939, page 3.

George Holm, who came here two weeks ago to attend the funeral of his aged mother, Mrs. Catherine Holm, departed yesterday for his home near Long Beach, Cal., where he has resided for many years. His sister, Mrs. Minnie Hansen, who resides at Hemet(?), Cal., came for the last rites and will spend two months here with her sister, Mrs. Catherine Heitman. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Jan 31, 1939, page 3.

Note: NO OBITUARY FOUND AS YET. Funeral was January 16 according to the news article above. She would have died about January 12. Burial was in the Remsen City Cemetery.

Death last Thursday night removed from this community one of its oldest residents, Mrs. Catherine Holm, who passed away in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Catherine Heitmann, after a brief illness. Her death was due to complications arising after she suffered a severe injury in a fall in the Heitmann home on the morning of New Year’s day. She was 91 years old. Surviving are four daughters, two sons, and a brother. Funeral services were held Monday. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, Tuesday, Jan. 24, 1939, page 3.
