LAST RITES FOR MRS. ABOLNE SOE. DECEASED WAS WIFE OF WELL KNOWN PASTOR OF DANISH CHURCH IN FREDONIA.
Last rites were held July 16 for Mrs. Abelone Soe, wife of the late Rev. Jeppe Soe, pastor of the Danish churches at Marcus and in Fredonia township, Plymouth county. Services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. J. Hansen, of Marcus and Rev. R. Carl Olson, of Sioux City.
Mrs. Soe leaves five children: Mrs. Andrew P. Petersen, Viborg, S.D.; Mrs. Peter N. Petersen, Marcus, Mrs. Nick Kloster, Remsen; Samuel Soe, Racine, Wis., and Miss Dagmar Soe, Remsen. There are elven grandchildren.
Mrs. Soe was born in Ringkobing, Denmark August 9, 1868, and came to America when a young woman with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Holm, who settled in Minneapolis, MInn. She was married to Rev. Jeppe Soe, of Marcus, March 7, 1894, and they subsequently lived at Latimer, Iowa; Trufont, Mich.; Neenah, Wis.; Viborg, S.D. and Marcus, living at the latter place from 1913 until the death of Rev. Soe in 1925. After her husband’s death, Mrs. Soe lived at Racine Wis.; with her son, Samuel about for about two years, and later came to Fredonia township to make her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Kloster.
Mrs. Soe was an active church member throughout her life, and a woman of exceptionally fine qualities, She was a friend to everyone and devoted wife and mother, a loyal and staunch companion to those who formed her acquaintance. In her death the community loses a loyal citizen and one of the fine examples of Christian womanhood. The deceased was thoughtful of others and eager to be of service where womanly devotion could be of benefit. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, July 26, 1932, page 1.

On July 14, occurred the death of Mrs. A. Soe, at the home of her daughter near Remsen. Mrs. Soe came here from Racine, Wis., at the advice of a friend to consult and be under the care of Dr. Vernon. Soe is the mother of Miss Dagmar Soe of the Liberty Consolidated school to whom the Record and community extend sympathy. – Le Mars Globe-Post, July 25, 1932, pge 3.
