Ida Caroline Tonsfeldt, 85, of Remsen died Thursday (Aug. 19, 1962) at a hospital in Sioux City of long illness.
Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Remsen City cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Moeller funeral home in Remsen.
Miss Tonsfeldt was born Aug. 4, 1897, on a farm north of Remsen in Sioux county to Hinrich and Anne (Heldt) Tonsfeldt. She attended area schools. She was employed 25 years by the Des Moines public library.
She returned to Remsen community eight years ago.
Survivors are nieces Mrs. Michael (Frances) Church of Council Bluffs and Ms. Oscar (Eunice) Bergquist of Sioux City, and two nieces and a nephew on the west coast. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Friday, August 20, 1982, page 8.
