Mrs. Otto (Eda) Nitzschke, 87, Remsen, died Thursday (April 28, 1983) at Floyd Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Remsen. Rev. Myron Herzberg will officiate and burial will be in Remsen City Cemetery under direction of the Moeller Funeral Home in Remsen. Prayer service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Eda Scott was born July 7, 1895, at Remsen to Eric and Mary Peterson Scott. She lived her entire life in the Remsen area. She attended Remsen schools and Western Union and Morningside Colleges. She taught rural schools in Plymouth County and married Otto Nitzschke Oct. 28, 1919, at Sioux City.
She was an active member of St. Paul’s Church, Ladies Aid and a member of the VFW Auxillary.
Survivors are four sons, Warren, Waterloo; Richard of Remsen; Andrew of Lawton and Lynn of Akron; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Otto, in 1970, three brothers and two sisters. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, April 29, 1983, page 14.
