DEATH OF MRS. BONDE NEILSEN
Leaves a Husband and Three Small Children to Mourn Loss
Mrs. Bonde Neilsen died on Saturday, at her home in Fredonia township, at the age of twenty-four years. She leaves three small children, one of whom is an infant son, born on May 5, her husband, her parents, six sisters and three brothers, and her grandmother, to mourn her loss.
Mrs. Neilsen was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Kloster and was born on their home farm in Fredonia township on July 29, 1893. She was united in marriage with Bonde Nielsen four years ago. Her early death was a great blow to her husband and relatives and is deeply regretted by a large circle of friends.The funeral services were held at the Danish Lutheran church, of which she was a member, on Tuesday. Rev. J. Soe conducted the services which were largely attended. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, May 24, 1918, page 1.
Note: Laurentine’s full name is Vibeke Helene Laurentine (Kloster) Nielsen. It was a traditional female name in the Kloster family. She is buried in the Remsen Community (City) Cemetery. Her children were Elmer Nielsen, Mildred (Nielsen) Peterson, and Woodrow Petersen, adopted by Laurentine’s sister, Herlig (Kloster) Petersen.
