MARTIN BURSHIEM

Martin Oliver Burshiem, whose home was at 126 7th St. S.W. in LeMars, passed away, May 4, 1954, at an Iowa City hospital at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 14 days. He had been sick for about a year.

Deceased was born May 20, 1885, at Sioux Falls, S.D. He was a stationary Engineer at Aurelia high school for twenty years. He moved to Plymouth county nine years ago. He served in the same capacity at Liberty township consolidated school for four years and at Seney one year. He moved to LeMars three and half years ago.

On August 25, 1925, he was united in marriage with Mary E. McQuinn at Spencer, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 7, 1954, with Rev. H. V. Bartz officiating. Services will be at the Mauer funeral chapel. Burial will be in the LeMars City cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, of LeMars; two step-sons, four grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin sister.
