WALTER HEWICKER

Word was received in Remsen Saturday of the sudden death of a former resident, Walter H. Hewicker, 55, who died Friday morning following a heart attack, at his home in Bakersfield, Calif.

Mr. Hewicker was born in Remsen and was graduated from highschool there 38 years ago. He had lived in Los Angeles for 20 years prior to moving to Bakersfield six years ago. He was an attorney.

Survivors include a brother, Frank, a farmer near Remsen; a brother, John who is an attorney and District Judge in San Diego; a sister, Ida in California and a sister, Mrs. Albert Guse, of Sanborn.

Mr. Hewicker’s parents were Mr. and Mrs. John Hewicker, some of the very earliest settlers in the Remsen community. Mr. Hewicker’s second wife, preceded him in death only this spring. He passed away a day following his 55th birthday.

Frank Hewicker and Mrs. Guse left Saturday by plane for Bakersfield where they attended funeral services Monday.
