John Hartman

John Hartman, 91, 2726 Morgan St., Sioux City, died Monday morning at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday
at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. The Rev. Phillip Dicks, pastor of Trimble United Methodist Church, Sioux City, officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hartman was born April 17, 1889, in Plymouth County, rural Hinton.

He married Helen Kovarna, Feb. 10, 1915, in Liberty Township, Plymouth County. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year. He farmed near Hinton all of his life until 1945 when he retired and moved to Sioux City.

He served as treasurer of Hungerford school district 1 for 18 years and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 752. He was a Methodist.

Survivors are his wife; one son, Darvin J. of Merrill; one daughter, Mrs. Iona Kasch of Hinton; one brother, Walter of Hinton; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
