Life's End
ELLEN R. DEMPSTER DIES UNEXPECTEDLY--RITES SET THURSDAYMiss Ellen Rose Dempster, 75, lifelong resident of LeMars and vicinity, died today (Tuesday) at Sacred Heart hospital where she had been hospitalized one day. Miss Dempster suffered a heart attack Monday at her home 1020 4th Ave. SE.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mauer's funeral home. Rev. R. V. Gildner will officiate. Burial will be in the city cemetery.
Miss Dempster was born Sept. 25, 1884, in LeMars, the daughter of the late John and Phoebe Hodgson Dempster.
Surviving are two brothers, William of Neligh, Neb., and Henry of LeMars, and five sisters, Elizabeth Reeves, Mrs. Mabel Featherston and Mrs. Bertha Tucker, all of LeMars, Mrs. Laura Featherston of Oak Park, Ill., and Mrs. Marian Kiest of Warrenville, Ill.
She was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.

LEMARS, Ia.--Special: Funeral services for Miss Ellen Rose Dempster, 75, lifelong resdient of LeMars, who died in a hospital Tuesday after a day's illness, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mauer funeral home here. Rev. R. V. Gildner will officiate and burial will be in LeMars city cemetery.
Miss Dempster was born September 25, 1884, in LeMars. Survivors include two brothers, William Dempster of Neligh, Neb., and Henry Dempster of LeMars, and five sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Reeves, Mrs. Mabel Featherston and Mrs. Bertha Tucker, all of LeMars; Mrs. Laura Featherston of Oak Park, Ill., and Mrs. Marian Keist (sic--Kiest) of Warrenville, Ill.
