MRS. EMMA ALDERSON

LEMARS, Ia--Special: Mrs. Emma Alderson, 80, a LeMars resident since 1908 (error-1903), died Saturday at the farm home of her niece, Mrs. Lloyd Ewers, in Preston township. She had resided there since becoming ill about one-and-one-half years ago.

Mrs. Alderson was born March 2, 1871, on a farm near Peosta (other obits say Potosi), Ia., and moved to Plymouth county at the age of 12. She lived on a farm until she moved to LeMars. She was married to John T. Alderson January 27 (error--31), 1927. Mr. Alderson died about five years ago. Mrs. Alderson was a member of the First Presbyterian church here and of the W. C. T. U.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Brown of Van Nuys, Cal., and Mrs. Agnes Hinds (sic-Hinde) of Forestburg, S. D., and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mauer funeral chapel here, with Rev. James D. Ransom of the Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will be in LeMars city cemetery.

Mrs. J. Alderson Is Buried Tuesday

Mrs. John T. Alderson, 86, died Saturday, Aug. 31, at the farm home near LeMars of a niece, Mrs. Lloyd Ewers, after a year and a half of illness.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mauer's funeral home. Rev. James Ransom officiated. Burial was in the city cemetery.

Emma Beatrice Burrill was born March 2, 1871, on a farm near Potosi, Iowa. She moved to Plymouth county at the age of 12 and had lived on a farm until 1903, when she moved to LeMars.

Her marriage to John T. Alderson took place Jan. 29 (error--31), 1927, at LeMars. Her husband preceded her in death, as did her parents and several brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Alderson was a member of the First Presbyterian church and W.C.T.U. here. Her home was at 414 2nd Ave. SW.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Brown of Van Nuys, Calif., and Mrs. Agnes Hinde of Forestburg, S. D; the niece, Mrs. Lloyd Ewers, with whom she had been staying, and a number of other nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Emma Beatrice Alderson who resided at 414 2nd Ave. S. W., passed away at the farm home of a niece, Mrs. Lloyd Ewers, of LeMars, on August 31, 1957.

Emma B. Burrill was born March 2, 1871 on a farm near Potosi, Iowa, and moved to Plymouth county at the age of 12. She lived on the farm until 1903 at which time she moved to LeMars. She was united in marriage with John T. Alderson on January 29 (error--31), 1927 in LeMars.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 3, 1957 at the Mauer funeral home at 2 p.m. Rev. James D. Ransom officiated and burial was in the LeMars city cemetery. Mrs. Alderson was a member of the First Presbyterian church and the WCTU.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Brown of Van Nuys, California; and Mrs. Agnes Hinde of Forestburg, South Dakota; a niece, Mrs. Ewers, with whom she made her home. Many other nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Alderson was precede in death by her parents, her husband and several brothers and sisters.
