DEATH OF MRS. WERNICKE.
From Monday’s daily.

After a lingering illness of seventeen weeks resulting from an attack of la grippe, Mrs. H.A. Wernicke died last night at half past eight at the residence of Dr. Hillebrand. Recently the family had broken up housekeeping with the intention of going to California, but had remained in LeMars to await the recovery of the sick woman.

Mrs. Wernicke was born in Germany and was 50 years of age last October. Her maiden name was Louisa Fleckinger. She was married in Freeport, Ill., and came to LeMars with her husband about thirteen years ago. She had many friends here who will deeply regret her death. The funeral will be held at the German Methodist church tomorrow at 2 o’clock.
