Douglas Koch

Services for Douglas Koch, 19, of Akron, who died Friday, Dec. 10, 1982 at Marian Health cemter, Sioux City, from injuries suffered in a farm accident Nov. 30, were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13 in the Hawarden Christian Reformed church.

The Rev. William Van Der Heide officiated. Burial was in Plymouth Presbyterian cemetery rural Akron, under direction of the Schroeder funeral home of Akron. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. James Ransom officiating.

Pallbeares were Gilbert Byker, Wilbur Daale, Anthony Dekkers, Arlen Lucken, Garrit Schouten, Ralph Taylor, William Timmons, and Gene Toben.

Douglas Koch was born Dec. 27, 1962 at Akron. He graduated from Akron-Westfield high school in 1981. He had farmed with his father since graduation. He was a former 4-H member.

Survivors include his parents, Donald and Charlotte Koch; five brothers, Donald R. and Richard of Akron; David of Mountain View, Calif., Dr. Robert of Bristol, Tenn., and Dennis of Minneapolis, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Fullerton of Carthage, Mo.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman and Elsie Koch.
