Died.
SCHMIDT - On Wednesday, August 13th, 1890, of consumption following lagniappe, Chas. F. Schmidt, aged 25 years and one month.
The deceased was a young man of model character and many sterling virtues, respected by all and loved by many very warm friends. Since an attack of la grippe last winter, his health has been in a precarious condition and although his recovery was scarcely hoped for his friends were shocked to learn of his death on Thursday.
Mr. Schmidt was born at Davenport, Iowa, in 1865 and came with his parents to the county about 1880. For a number of years he followed teaching in this county. He read law with Argo & McDuffie and in 1887 was admitted to practice at the bar. Until last summer some time he studied and practiced with Argo & McDuffie, but recently he has had an office alone and was building up an excellent reputation as well as a good business.
The funeral services occur at 2 p.m. today. Rev. D. W. Fuhs, officiating.
