Obituary
Erwin W. Klemme departed this life last Tuesday morming, December 9, 1975, at our Akron hospital, following an illness of several months duration. He was 57 years of age.
Erwin Wilmer Klemme was born at Akron, Iowa, September 30, 1918. He parents were Edwin and Anna Bubs Klemme. During infancy he was baptized as a member of his church. He became a confirmed adult member of Immanuel Lutheran church here June 11, 1933. His confirmation pastor was the Rev. Carl W. Samuelson.
At a marriage service at Remsen, Iowa, August 17, 1939, He was united in marriage to Miss Fern Nitzchke. They made their home on the family farm east of Akron and have continued residence there ever since.
He was a active member of this church and was willing to serve wherever and whenever the opportunity presented itself. He was a friendly person who was interested in the other person and thus had a wide circle of friends.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Mrs. Fern Klemme, his daughter, Mrs. Nancy Nielsen of Akron; his three sons, Robert of Akron, Jerry of Hawarden, Iowa and Mark at home; his nine grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Anna Klemme, Akron; his brother, Walter A. Klemme of Akron; his sister, Mrs. Lu Hinrichs of Riverdale, Illinois; many other relatives and friends.
The funeral service in his memory was held at the Immanuel Lutheran church last Thursday afternoon with Pastor David J. Roy, officiating. Mrs. Carol Harris was soloist and sang “Picking a Flower” and “How Great Thou Art”, accompanied by Mrs. Phyllis Frisk, organist.
Andrew Brown, Gordon Klemme, Leonard Klemme, Leslie Klemme, Randall Bredttbarth and Raymond Tapper were casket bearers. Interment was in Riverside cemetery under the direction of Schroeder Funeral home.
